Grill serial numbers are printed on adhesive stickers that can be placed in several locations depending on the manufacturer and model year. Use a phone camera and flashlight to read stickers in low-visibility locations.

• Gas grills (cart style): Inside the lid on the left panel, back of the firebox, or on the side panel of the cart frame near the wheels
• Gas grills (built-in/drop-in): Inside the lid, on the front face of the unit, or on the underside of the burner box
• Pellet grills: Back panel near the auger motor or pellet hopper, inside the lid, or underside of the cooking chamber
• Kettle charcoal grills: Bottom of the kettle bowl, on the ash catcher frame, or underside of the lid
• Kamado-style grills: Back of the ceramic body, on the metal band frame, or underside of the stand

Reading the Serial Number Sticker

Grill serial number stickers typically contain: the model number (shared by all units of that model line), the serial number (unique to your specific unit), manufacturing date, and sometimes country of origin. The serial number is what you need for registration - it is usually the longer alphanumeric string on the sticker.

Stickers on grills degrade faster than on indoor appliances due to heat cycling, moisture, and outdoor exposure. If the sticker has faded, use a camera to photograph it with multiple light angles to read degraded text. For completely illegible stickers, contact the brand's customer support with proof of purchase.
