QR Code Registration for Grills

Weber and Traeger are making grill registration as simple as scanning a code. Here's how it works - and how to register grills that don't have a QR code yet.

QR Codes and Grill Registration

Grill registration has historically been a friction-heavy process: find the registration card, write down the serial number from an awkward spot on the frame, and mail or web-submit the form. QR code registration eliminates most of that friction. Weber has added QR codes to product packaging on select models. Traeger's WiFIRE-enabled grills register through the Traeger app - a scan-and-pair process that is functionally equivalent to QR registration. Scan, enter purchase date, done.

Traeger App Registration

Traeger's grill registration is the most streamlined in the category. During initial WiFIRE setup in the Traeger app, the grill's serial number is read automatically via the app's connection to the grill. The registration is completed as part of the WiFi pairing flow. After setup, verify registration status in the Traeger app under Grill Settings → Warranty. The warranty expiration date should appear. If it does not, use traeger.com/pages/warranty-registration with the serial number from the grill's back panel.
Traeger's WiFIRE setup reads the serial number automatically - registration completes as part of WiFi pairing, no extra steps needed.

Registering Traditional Gas and Charcoal Grills

For traditional gas and charcoal grills without connected features, registration is done through the brand's website. The QR code approach is still emerging in this segment. Weber's website registration is the fastest current option for non-connected grills. Weber's serial number is stamped into the frame or on a sticker inside the lid. For Char-Broil, the serial number is typically on a sticker on the cart frame or back of the firebox. For Napoleon, it is on the label inside the lid.

Scan, Connect, Protected

App-connected grills register during WiFi setup. Traditional grills take under three minutes at the brand's website.

Recall Alerts and Grill Registration

Gas grill recalls - typically for hose failures, valve defects, or burner corrosion - are common CPSC-issued notices. Registration ensures these notices reach the grill owner directly. QR-based registration, by reducing friction at purchase, increases the percentage of grill owners who are registered - and therefore increases the percentage who receive recall notices when they are issued.

How Bawte Makes It Simple

Traeger WiFIRE Auto-Registration

Traeger WiFIRE setup reads the serial number and completes warranty registration automatically during WiFi pairing. Verify in Grill Settings.

Weber Online Registration

Non-connected Weber grills register at weber.com/us/en/warranty - serial number is inside the lid or stamped on the frame.

Gas Grill Recall Alerts

CPSC regularly recalls gas grills for hose and valve defects. Registration creates the direct recall notification path.

Assembly-Time Registration

Register during grill assembly - serial numbers are maximally accessible before the grill is seasoned and put into use.
